At LivingCaring, every product begins with empathy. We design practical, thoughtfully engineered home-care solutions that support mobility, bring comfort, and rebuild confidence in everyday life. Our mission is simple:
Our founder, Edward, was living in Georgia when his father began needing support with daily activities. What started as small gestures of help slowly grew into a deeper realization: simple tasks were no longer simple.
Edward watched his father struggle with things most of us take for granted—steadying himself in the shower, rising from a chair, or moving safely from one room to another. But more than the physical difficulty, Edward noticed something heartbreaking: the quiet fear in his father’s eyes—a fear of slipping, of falling, of becoming a burden.
At the same time, Edward felt the emotional weight many caregivers know too well. The constant worry. The need to be present. The hope of keeping someone you love safe. He began to see that this was not just his family’s story—it was the story of countless families across America.
And in these moments of caregiving, Edward realized a profound truth: It wasn’t aging itself that made life so hard. It was the lack of thoughtful, senior-friendly solutions designed with empathy.
Most products on the market were uncomfortable, unstable, or simply not designed for real-life senior needs. They solved functional problems but ignored dignity, comfort, and emotional safety. Edward knew seniors deserved better—better design, better stability, better care.
With a background as an MIT-trained supply chain specialist and years of experience leading a 100+ person engineering and quality-control team, he understood how to build products and how to build systems that ensure quality, safety, and reliability. But this time, engineering would serve something deeper: love, family, and humanity.
He made a promise—to his father and to families everywhere—to create solutions that truly understand what aging feels like:
the desire to stay independent, the need to feel safe, and the hope to live with dignity.
SHOP NOWWhen Edward’s father turned eighty, he was still the kind of person who never stopped working. Every morning, he sat at his desk to read, write, and stay engaged with the world. His mind remained sharp and active — but standing up from his office chair gradually became more difficult.
There was no dramatic fall or sudden event. Just the quiet, everyday struggle of trying to rise from a seat with dignity.
Wanting to help, Edward began searching for a chair with stand-assist support. But what he found was disappointing:
Most “stand-assist chairs” on the market were oversized, bulky recliners — designed for living rooms, not for a desk or dining table. They were heavy, hard to move, and far more complicated than what his father needed.
Edward’s father didn’t want a large motorized chair taking over his workspace. He didn’t need a medical device. He simply needed a bit of assistance — something safe, simple, and easy to move anywhere in the home.
That’s when Edward realized the real issue wasn’t his father’s ability. It was the lack of a product that truly fit everyday life.
So Edward and our engineering team decided to create one — a chair that is:
Lightweight enough to move between a desk and a dining table
Sturdy and dependable to support seniors as they stand
Comfortable for long periods of reading, writing, or eating
Engineered with gentle lift-assist support that empowers rather than replaces
Clean, simple, and home-friendly, blending naturally into any room
The result is our lightweight stand-assist chair — designed not as a medical device, but as an everyday piece of furniture that restores confidence and independence.
Today, it supports seniors who want to stay active, families who want peace of mind, and people like Edward’s father — who simply want to stand up easily and continue doing the things they love.
