This product began with a simple, everyday frustration inside Edward’s own home.

Like many American houses, his family’s garage sat lower than the main living area. To enter the garage, you had to step down an awkward, uneven distance — something easy to ignore when you’re young, but increasingly difficult for aging parents.

For Edward’s father, who was already facing balance changes and reduced mobility, that single step became a daily challenge. There was no dramatic fall or sudden emergency — just a constant worry about losing balance and a growing hesitation each time he approached the doorway.

Wanting to help, Edward began exploring solutions.

Hiring a mason to build a permanent concrete step was costly, and reliable installers were hard to find. Temporary plastic steps shifted over time, and indoor stools were unsafe outdoors. Nothing available felt secure, durable, or truly senior-friendly.

That’s when he realized the real issue:
